Upon reflection, I realized this was the most challenging English course I have taken at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University thus far. I do know the reasons it was a challenge for me specifically in which we won't go into depth. Although it wasn't the typical English course for me personally, I did learn and gain a lot of valuable information to apply to my everyday life, and this more than anything is what is important to me. This course opened my eyes up to the correlation of African American history and African American films. I did not realize there was much of a correspondence, but this course will open your eyes to how and why there is. For future English 318 students I would recommend always be prepared for class by reading the material given, being on time, participating in classroom discussions, and being open-minded to hear different perspectives.  Doing these things you are guaranteed success in this course!
